Curbside Concierge
If you think you might need a new computer, tablet, or phone — it’s running slow, it’s full up, it’s getting old — the following scenario has been fun for me and a luxury for clients. Here’s how it works. You call me up, we talk. Sometimes we switch to Zoom and share screens. I help you decide what to buy and what to do with your old computer. If you are in a hurry, we arrange for in-store pickup, if not, we have it shipped. Meanwhile, you deliver the old machine to my office in Buellton. I set up your new computer and transfer your data according to a plan we create together. I confirm that everything is present and working as expected. The whole process usually requires a few phone calls and can include an in-person orientation at my office when everything is ready for pickup. Whether you recycle, trade-in, sell, or gift the old machine, it’s necessary to erase the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to protect your privacy. I provide this service also. Sometimes the client gifts the old computer to a friend, who then becomes responsible for my fee to do this last part. Win win win!
